Monterrei Wine

Comprising the towns of Verin, Monterrei, Oimbra and Casterelo do Val the Monterrei denomination of origin is found on the eastern edge of the province of Ourense, in Monterrei Valley, near the border withPortugal.

Monterrei's red stains are those of Alicante, Mencia, Gran Negro, Bastardo, Tinta Fina, Arauxa Mouraton. The white varietiesss include Palomino, Verdelho, Dona Blanca, Treixadura and Godello.

With a moderate alcohol content, the wines created in Monterrei are fresh, fruity and light in both red and white wines. The Palomino Fino stands out in the white monterrei as it is used 40% of the blend, The Gran Negro and Grenache stand out for the red monterrei which is used in the same percentage. Having a maximum of 15% Palomino for superior Monterrei white wines and red wines with Gran Negro and Grenache
